The Join the Club project, in the Country Club neighborhood, was a full interior and exterior remodel. We were happy to have the clients’ family vacation home entrusted to our care for the design and construction process. The siding and roofing needed to be replaced in order to bring it back to a higher standard of weatherproofing, and the interior was updated to reflect the clients’ current needs and style. The kitchen was completely redesigned to feel more open, accommodate larger family gatherings, and create a better traffic flow.

We encountered a few challenges along the way. Upon removing the existing siding, we discovered that there was no shear, an important layer in the weatherproofing and structural system. This was not a requirement when the house was built, but we brought it up to new building standards by installing shear and new siding. We also had challenges in reworking the footprint of the kitchen.

results

We had to balance meeting all the needs and wants of the clients with keeping the design cost-effective. We landed on a design that made the space airier and better matched the style the clients were interested in. We enjoyed partnering with these clients to update their vacation home for better functionality and the durability to last a lifetime. From enjoying family meals together to indulging in a hot bath, the whole house has been upgraded to be enjoyed together in a brighter, beautiful space.
