This kitchen features a large island, open shelving, and an appliance garage with pocket doors that tuck away. The island cabinets are a lovely, stained wood color that contrasts with the light floors, quartz countertop, and warm cabinets at the perimeter.

highlights

While the original kitchen was functional, it did not meet the overall needs of the family using it. Now there is gathering space for kids to sit and chat while food is being prepared.

results

There is a flexible traffic pattern to keep everyone from getting stuck in the kitchen and it has brought a sense of balance to a space where so much of the family’s time is spent.
